A Message of Resilience and Gratitude

This February, Michel Picaud, President of the Friends of Notre-Dame de Paris, and Stephan LeCam, board member of the charity, traveled to Los Angeles on a mission of solidarity and support. During their visit, the two dignitaries presented a check to Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades and St. Elizabeth Church in Altadena, which were recently ravaged by the devastating fires that struck the city in early 2025.

This generous initiative echoes the tragedy that struck Notre-Dame de Paris in April 2019. In the wake of that disaster, the American people mobilized in extraordinary ways to support the Cathedral’s restoration, symbolizing unshakeable transatlantic solidarity.

Beyond financial aid, this act of generosity sends a powerful message of resilience. By extending our support to Corpus Christi and St. Elizabeth, we reaffirm that in the face of adversity, the international community can unite to rebuild and rise from the ashes.

The recent fires in Los Angeles have left deep physical and emotional scars, but as the story of Notre-Dame has shown, reconstruction is possible through collective determination and global solidarity. This initiative further strengthens the bonds between the French and American people and underscores the importance of cooperation and compassion in times of crisis.

Together, we can overcome the most difficult trials and build a brighter future.
