Following the work on the nave and choir, the roofers completed the covering of the two arms of the transept with lead tables. In addition to ornamentation such as ridge crests, the transepts have four dormer windows with restored dials (which will later be connected to a clock system). All of this work was completed on schedule.
Most of the scaffolding around the roof has now been removed, revealing the full silhouette of the cathedral.
At the same time, scaffolders have begun to erect new lightweight scaffolding at the base of the spire to enable roofers to complete the covering of the spire and the levels connecting the different arms of the Cathedral in the first half of 2025. At the end of this operation, the statues of the 12 Apostles, which were removed 4 days before the fire and fully restored, will find their place on the new spire.
